Rocky Road Rockrails are the creme' de la creme' of the Jeep rocker protection phenomenom. We use 1/4" inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend! Anything else is just plain flimsy. Most other rocker bars are made from thin 1/8" wall material and a good number of the Rockrails we sell are to those who have bought these thinner bars and have bent them up. The Rockrails have a very sleek rounded look about them as we use genuine inner hitch steel in their construction. This repair manual has a lot of information that conflicts with the factory service manual and/or the factory owners’ manual. Many of the service descriptions are incomplete. Haynes used to be a good quality book, but this one is almost useless.

This is a good reference Manual. However, to use it, you must have a good Mechanical aptitude. Some of the lanquage and illustrations are hard to understand.

|Fit and function perfect!,
I installed this hitch on my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Everything about it is quality. This is an exact copy of the Jeep OEM receiver but it drops down a few inches to clear the plastic bumper facia. No cutting the bumper, no plastic bezel dress piece, and over $100+ cheaper. Honestly, I think it looks better than the factory cut-out tow package. You don’t see the ugly spare tire. You’re only talking about two inches lower, if that. The instructions were straightforward and it installed without a ‘hitch’….ha ha. I put my hitch mounted motorcycle hauler on the receiver and took my dirt bike out to the desert without a problem. Just make sure you torque each bolt down to the 75 ft/lbs per the instructions.

I was looking for a hitch for my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It did not come with a factory hitch and I did not want to cut into my back bumper for the OEM hitch. This hitch was perfect!!!! Drop’s down just below the bumper and took maybe 15 minutes to install. Would recomment and it’s half the price of anything else I found.

I gave this product an easy 5 stars. The finish on the receiver looks like the picture, very glossy and smooth. The installation of this item took about 40 minutes from start to finish. All of the necessary hardware was included and the directions were very clear on what was required to prep the Jeep for install. I installed this item on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado 4×4. I found getting this item was easier than trying to buy a factory hitch and have to cut the bumper and get the trim rings. Also, it appears that this has more tongue weight than factory so that’s something to consider when thinking about the items you might be hauling.
The other ‘pro’ of this item for me is the fact that it doesn’t look bolted on, and it doesn’t look cheap. I’m sure many people out there will think that it is 100% factory which is what I love the most.
