BP plugs vehicle dependent. Mfgr recommends NO anti-seize,
 Â
Bosch platinum plugs (reg, +2, +4) have worked very well for me in newer cars, not so well in those older than about 1999. They like higher voltage ignition systems. They can misfire with lower voltage. Sometimes larger plug wires fix it, it depends on the overall design of the ignition system.
Despite the hype on the web and anecdotal stories, virtually all spark plug manufacturers recommend against using anti-seize compound when installing plugs. They nickle-plate the threads to protect against seizing. The anti-seize compounds, even copper based, tend to increase the resistance to ground, and to upset the torque required to seat the plugs. The silver based compound will seriously increase resistance causing misfires and serious overheating of the plugs, and I have experienced the plug ceramic tips breaking off and falling into the cylinder. It sounds like a bad valve lifter and can damage the cylinder or valves. Copper based compound is less resistance, but still often too much, and any of it getting to the plug tip causes bad things. But just as big a problem is effect on plug torque.
Torquing the plugs depends greatly on the lubrication resistance of the threads, and the technique. Adding any lube, including anti-seize, reduces friction so that using a torque wrench results in the plug turning farther, stretching the materials as it does, to achieve the recommended torque value. This can cause stripping and fracturing. Unless the manufacturer gives instructions for torquing plugs or bolts using lubricant, they should be done dry with clean threads. That gives proper performance and prevents them from coming loose.
Bottom line: great plugs for the right applications, when installed properly. Don’t use anti-seize on plugs, because the manufacturer already accounted for it. And never over-torque them.

|Excellent Performance — Better Mileage, too !!,
I have used the Busch Platinum Plus spark plugs in 2 different vehicles, each with the FORD 4.6-litre V-8 engine (the same #4041 plug is also used in Cadillacs, Chevrolets, and other GM cars and trucks)– and I have accumulated about 150,000 total miles on cars equipped with this plug, with all cylinders firing evenly and giving excellent fuel economy.
I change the spark plugs at 30,000 mile intervals — being very careful to BE SURE that all the spark plugs are gapped properly at .054″.
When installing your new spark plugs, always BE SURE to apply an Anti-Seize compound to all the threads.
Also, BE SURE that the Bosch Platinum-Plus spark plugs are properly torqued to 180 inch-pounds (15 ft.-lbs.). Too loose, and the plugs can back out — too tight, and the threads in the aluminum cylinder head may strip out !!
A 1-foot length of 3/8″ fuel hose can be slipped over the end of the spark plug so that the plugs can be easily threaded in by hand — and then tightened with a torque wrench. I use an inch-pound “clicker” from Craftsman (SEARS) — for better accuracy. If the spark plugs are not tightened properly, the engine WILL NOT deliver the performance that was built into it !!
When changing spark plugs, it’s a VERY wise move to replace the ignition wires at the same time — the original “factory” wires have been problematic (engine misfires) — and a replacement with a Bosch Premium Wire Set (available at Amazon.com) will put your ignition system in “better-than-new” condition.
Don’t forget to apply a liberal amount of dielectric grease (Novagard G624 5oz Dielectric General Purpose Compound Tube – available at Amazon.com) to the inside of the spark plug boots before snapping the boots into place !!

|Bosch Plat. Plus,
The plug performed as expected, no noticeable change in mileage. I might be tempted to try a different plug next time.

|Bosch 15703 Oxygen Sensors,
 Â
I purchased a Delphi FJ10565 CSEFI to MFI fuel injector conversion kit and a set of four Bosch 15703 Oxygen Sensors at Amazon for my 1996 S-10 Blazer. They had these products available and at very affordable prices. After replacing the fuel injectors and noticing a marked improvement, I then proceeded to replace the four oxygen sensors. I did not have any problems with the units near the catalytic converters as they were very accessible and they only required some penetrating oil and the special socket to remove and replace. Make sure you warm up your vehicle for a couple of minutes to facilitate the removal of the old O2 sensors. The units near the exhaust manifold are much more cramped to access, requiring ‘crow-foot’ removers to replace. The right bank sensor was difficult to remove but the left bank required me to take it to a muffler shop as it had nearly welded itself onto the exhaust tube. Thirty-five dollars later and a new tap/retread job, I had all new four O2 sensors on. The level of smoothness is highly noticeable. I thought that the fuel injector replacement had made a sizable difference, but when I added the replacement of the O2 sensors, the difference was remarkable. Without ignoring that my vehicle has now 178K miles, the level of smoothness and performance is outstanding. I will be checking the MPG as I was getting an average of 13 MPG; regardless, the Blazer is, once again, reliable to drive.

|Perfect fit; cheapest by a long shot,
I bought 2 of these sensors for my 1998 Chevy K1500 at a local parts store for $80 a piece. I looked at Amazon and they were half the price. I was completely comfortable ordering them online because Amazon makes sure they are compatible with your vehicle and I knew Bosch was an OEM supplier so they would last a long time. They were easy to install and plugged right into my factory wiring harness. Whenever I have to buy oxygen sensors again, I’m definitely checking with Amazon.

|Better than the OEM bulb,
 Â
The light from this GE Nighthawk bulb is whiter and brighter than the OEM 9003 bulb it replaces. Due to the sharp cutoff characteristics of the lens assembly of my car, I can’t say that the light beam being thrown is significantly farther. The light is definitely brighter and whiter in color within the beam area making it easier to see at night. I did not try the more exotic brighter bulbs available because of reading reports that their extra high current requirements might overtax a car’s wiring causing insulation to melt. There was also a 2-for-1 special pricing when I purchased this set of bulbs that made it an extra good buy.

|Works Great.,
I replaced the headlights in my 03 Honda Pilot which had the factory bulbs still in them. Headlights these days tend to last a long time without actually burning out but the brightness will very slowly go down. So slow you may not notice until you drive in an area with very little to no other cars or street lights. I replaced my lights and immediately noticed a huge difference with this lights. Nice bright white light. I would skip the similar “blue” ones they sell as they are not as bright because they basically just tint the bulb which blocks light emission. Installation was a snap for the Pilot. This was a great deal too as it was a buy one get one promo.

|Nice upgrade for the CR-V,
Replaced my 3+ year old OEM lamps on my 2007 Honda CR-V. Noticed an improvement in brightness and beam spread. Lack of low beam spread (width) has been a weakness in the OEM CR-V lamps, so that improvement is appreciated. A strong low beam cutoff is noted on the vertical, this appears to be a headlight (not lamp) design feature to avoid blinding oncoming drivers, and because the lamps are brighter, it is more noticeable, and to wit, I am not getting requests from other drivers to turn down my lows, thinking they are highs. I’ve always thought that the CR-V high beams are good, and with these lamps, I feel like I am driving with a pair of searchlights. I would say that the advertised 30% improvement is about right, plus a bit for the fact that old bulbs dim over time, and new lamps will be brighter anyway. Carefully removed and packaged my OEM lamps, and they in the spare tire well as backups.
